Philippine Directory of Key Figures: Business, Culture, and Sports
0. Before using this material: 4 points that trip people up
注 ① There are two different "Forbes Philippines rich lists." Mixing them up is a very common mistake. They are separate things:
| Name | Publication timing | Coverage | 2026 content |
|---|---|---|---|
| Forbes Asia "Philippines' 50 Richest" | Every August | The 50 richest people/families in the Philippines | Published August 5, 2026. Combined total $79.0 billion. 注(2026-08-25 cross-check) Chapter 4 of the field guide "Conglomerates and Business Groups" cites "Forbes/Manila Times, August 7, 2026" as its source. This looks like a gap between Forbes's own publication date and local press coverage of it, but this is unconfirmed. It is safest to state only "August 2026" |
| Forbes "World's Billionaires" + real-time version | Every March / updated continuously | The world's billionaires | Fluctuates daily with share prices |
Even for the same person, the amount and rank differ. Example: Lucio Tan is ranked 6th with $2.9 billion in the August Philippine-edition list, but a description based on the March 2026 world-edition figures gives him $3.5 billion and 3rd place domestically. When citing a figure, always note which list it is from and as of when.
注 ② Check the metric behind any "world's Nth largest" claim. This article states the name of the specific metric wherever it could be verified, and marks claims "unconfirmed" where it could not.
注 ③ Government statistics/corporate disclosures are a different thing from "rankings" put out by industry associations or brand-valuation firms. Rankings from Brand Finance or Euromonitor are about "brand value" or "share of a specific category" — they are not rankings of company size.
注 ④ Many owner-executives are elderly, and titles change frequently. This article is based on information that could be confirmed as of August 2026; titles that could not be confirmed are noted as such.
1. Forbes "Philippines' 50 Richest 2026" (published August 5, 2026)
1-1. Overall picture
| Item | 2026 | 2025 | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| Combined wealth of the top 50 | $79.0 billion | $86.0 billion | Forbes Asia (August 2026) |
| Year-on-year change | ▲8% | — | Forbes Asia |
| Number who gained wealth | 14 (33 declined) | — | Forbes Asia / Philstar |
| Cutoff for making the list | $185 million (same as prior year) | $185 million | Forbes Asia |
Forbes attributes the decline to the Philippines' Q1 2026 GDP growth of 2.8% — the lowest since the pandemic — plus an energy-price shock and inflation from the situation in Iran, and peso weakness (Forbes Asia, August 2026).
1-2. Top 10
| Rank | Name | Wealth | Main industry / core companies |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Enrique K. Razon Jr. | $21.8 billion | Ports — ICTSI, Bloomberry (Solaire), Prime Infra, Manila Water |
| 2 | Sy siblings (6 siblings) | $9.2 billion | SM Group (SM Prime, BDO, SM Retail) |
| 3 | Ramon S. Ang | $3.5 billion | San Miguel Corporation |

| 5 | Isidro Consunji & siblings | $3.0 billion | DMCI Holdings, Semirara |
| 6 | Lucio Tan | $2.9 billion | LT Group, Philippine Airlines, PNB |
| 7 | Jaime Zobel de Ayala & family | $2.8 billion | Ayala Corporation |
| 8 | Que Azcona family | $2.5 billion | Mercury Drug (drugstore chain) Not Monde Nissin — see 2-8 below |
| 9 | Manuel "Manny" Villar Jr. | $2.4 billion | Vista Land, Camella |
| 10 | Ty siblings | $2.3 billion | Metrobank, GT Capital |
| 11 | Aboitiz family | $2.2 billion | Aboitiz Equity Ventures |
(Sources: Forbes Asia, GMA News Online, Philstar, Philstar Life, all August 2026)
1-3. Major moves in 2026
| Person | Move | Background |
|---|---|---|
| Razon | +$10.3 billion ($11.5B → $21.8B), first time at No. 1 | ICTSI share price rose on accelerated overseas expansion |
| Sy siblings | ▲$2.6 billion ($11.8B → $9.2B), lost the top spot | SM Prime shares fell 18% (property market slump) |
| Villar | ▲$8.6 billion ($11.0B → $2.4B), dropped from 3rd to 9th | Write-down of land holdings' assessed value (see below) |
| Lucio & Susan Co | First time in the top 5 | Puregold's steady performance + acquisition of a water utility |
| Robert Coyiuto Jr. | Top gainer by rate, $925 million, ranked 17th | Improved regulatory environment for power transmission (Synergy Grid / NGCP) |
| Jose Ma. Concepcion III (RFM) | Back to 49th with $200 million | — |
| Juliette Romualdez | 50th with $185 million | — |
注 Villar's "wild swing" deserves special attention. In Forbes's real-time version in the first half of 2025, he briefly held $17.2 billion and ranked No. 1 domestically, but in November 2025 his share price collapsed amid a controversy over property valuations. Forbes reported on November 13, 2025 that "the value of his real-estate holdings was written down by 99%, wiping out more than $5 billion in two days." Both "$17.2 billion" and "$2.4 billion" circulate as the same person's net worth, so the date must always be checked.
2. Family conglomerate heads and top executives
2-1. Roster (as of August 2026)

|---|---|---|---|
| Razon | ICTSI / Prime Infra | Enrique K. Razon Jr. (b. 1960) | Chairman and President |

2-2. Enrique K. Razon Jr.
The single most important figure of 2026. Born March 3, 1960 in Manila, third-generation Filipino of Spanish descent in the port-handling business.
| Business | Details |
|---|---|
| ICTSI | Founded 1987. Operates 32 terminals in 19 countries (2026-08-30 source replaced: the earlier draft had cited Wikipedia. Source: ICTSI's 2024 Annual Report / SEC Form 17-A corporate disclosure — "an operator of 32 terminals in 19 countries" from the FY2024 earnings release, 2025-03-05. Do not use this figure without stating the fiscal year). Ranked 8th in the world among container-terminal operators by "equity TEU throughput" — the phrase "world's largest independent port company" also circulates, but 8th place is the appropriate description in terms of scale ranking |
| Bloomberry Resorts | Operates Solaire Resort (Manila / North Quezon City) |
| Manila Water | Water utility for the East Zone of Metro Manila. In 2024 Ayala gave up all its voting shares, and control passed to Razon's side |
| Prime Infra | Unlisted power/water infrastructure holding company. Acquired Colombian oil and gas company SierraCol Energy in 2026 |
| MORE Power | Exclusive power distributor for Iloilo City (since 2020) |
- In July 2026, announced a power-modernization venture with Manny Pacquiao (Gulf News, July 27, 2026).
- ICTSI's stake was approximately 61.87% as of December 2025 (company disclosure).
2-3. The Sy family
Founder Henry Sy Sr. (born 1924 in Jinjiang, Fujian, China; died January 19, 2019, age 94) built the group from a shoe store called "ShoeMart" in 1958. He had six children.
| Name | Main role as of 2026 |
|---|---|
| Teresita Sy-Coson | Vice Chairperson, SM Investments (the group's de facto public face) |
| Henry Sy Jr. | Vice Chairman, SM Investments |
| Hans Sy | Involved with SM Prime (specific title unconfirmed) |
| Herbert Sy | Retail division (specific title unconfirmed) |
| Elizabeth Sy | Hospitality division (specific title unconfirmed) |
| Harley Sy | SM Executive |
It is unusual among Philippine family conglomerates that no family member holds the Chairman/CEO post — instead it is entrusted to professional managers (Tetangco, a former central bank governor, as Chairman, and DyBuncio as President & CEO). The Sy family's shareholding is roughly 43.7%.
2-4. Ramon S. Ang
Born 1954. Chairman & CEO of San Miguel Corporation. Since June 10, 2024, eldest son John Paul L. Ang has been Vice Chairman, President & COO. In May 2026 he also handed the presidency of Petron to his son, remaining CEO himself (Inquirer, May 7, 2026). Ang himself has stated he "won't retire for the next five years."
Major developments in 2025–2026:
| Time | Content | Source |
|---|---|---|
| October 2025 | Explained that one year after privatization, NAIA (Ninoy Aquino International Airport) had remitted ₱57.0 billion to the government. Chairman & CEO of New NAIA Infrastructure Corp. 注(2026-08-25 cross-check) "Conglomerates and Business Groups" states "₱52.0 billion over 13 months." Since the period used (12 vs. 13 months) and the announcing party differ, one cannot be declared wrong, so both figures are noted. The upfront payment of ₱30.0 billion, the fixed annual fee of ₱2.0 billion, and the 82.16% revenue-share to government are consistent across sources (2026-08-30 source hygiene: Wikipedia, which had been cited alongside other sources, was removed; confirmed via the PPP bid results) | Inquirer |
| November 2025 | Stated clearly he would not enter politics | Inquirer / Philstar |
| March 2026 | Amid the energy crunch, revived his proposal to sell Petron to the government | InsiderPH / Manila Times |
| June 2026 | Announced a target of completing the expressway business integration with MPTC (Metro Pacific Tollways) in Q3 | GMA News |
| August 2026 | Acquired 25.68% of Lopez, Inc. (from Gabby Lopez). This represents a move into the capital of the storied Lopez family, which controls ABS-CBN and First Gen. The ERC (Energy Regulatory Commission) has taken a cautious stance | Forbes, BusinessWorld, Inquirer (August 10–11, 2026) |
2-5. The Zobel de Ayala brothers
- Jaime Augusto Zobel de Ayala: Chairman of Ayala Corporation (succeeded his father in 2006).
- Fernando Zobel de Ayala: The younger brother. Resigned all positions in 2022 for health reasons, but 注returned in stages during 2023 (Ayala Land adviser in February; BPI director and AC Health chairman, among others, in September). Older information claiming he "retired" is still in circulation, so caution is needed.
- Jaime Zobel de Ayala (the father, b. 1934): Chairman Emeritus. Forbes lists him as the family patriarch.
- Mother Doña Beatriz Zobel de Ayala died in September 2024 at age 88.
- President & CEO is Cezar P. Consing (not a family member, former BPI President).
Heads of major subsidiaries: Ayala Land — Bernard Vincent Dy; BPI — Jose Teodoro "TG" Limcaoco; Globe Telecom — Ernest Cu; ACEN — John Eric Francia.
2-6. Manuel V. Pangilinan (MVP)
Born 1946. Turned 80 on July 14, 2026. Managing Director & CEO of First Pacific (Hong Kong), and concurrently Chairman of PLDT, Meralco, Metro Pacific Investments, MediaQuest, and Philex Mining.
注 The most important caveat: MVP does not appear on the rich list. He is a "hired executive" of First Pacific (whose main shareholder is Indonesia's Salim Group), not the owner of the assets, so he does not appear on the Forbes Philippines rich list. Being "one of the most powerful figures in the Philippines" and "being a billionaire" are two different things.
- Returned as CEO of PLDT in December 2023 after Al Panlilio's resignation for health reasons.
- Reported in June 2026 to have been in a post-surgery recovery period (Bilyonaryo, June 3, 2026).
- On July 30, 2026, Rappler reported "Who succeeds MVP — he has an idea of his own." Succession remains an ongoing theme for 2026.
- In July 2026, Phase 1 of MTerra Solar (total capacity 3,500 MW) went online, attended by the President.
- A stalwart of Philippine basketball (SBP Chairman Emeritus; owner of TNT / Meralco / NLEX in the PBA).
2-7. The Villar family (a leading example of "political businessmen")
Manny Villar (born December 13, 1949 in Tondo, Manila). A former politician turned real-estate tycoon who served as House Speaker (1998–2000) and Senate President (2006–2008). Has supplied more than 200,000 homes through Camella and other brands.
Upheaval in 2025–2026:
| Time | Event |
|---|---|
| First half of 2025 | Reached $17.2 billion on Forbes's real-time list, briefly No. 1 domestically |
| November 13, 2025 | Real-estate holdings written down 99% in value → more than $5 billion wiped out in two days (Forbes) |
| December 2025 | Water company PrimeWater acquired by the Co family |
| June 2026 | The company renamed itself Hiraya Water Corporation |
| August 2026 | $2.4 billion, 9th on the Forbes Philippine edition (down $8.6 billion year-on-year) |
Family in politics: Camille Villar (daughter) — Senator elected in 2025, member of the Senate Electoral Tribunal (sworn in March 2026). Mark Villar (son) — Senator, Senate finance committee chair in the 20th Congress (May 2026). Wife Cynthia Villar has also served as Senator.
2-8. Other family heads
| Person | Key points |
|---|---|
| Lucio Tan (b. July 17, 1934, age 92) | Chairman & CEO of LT Group. Philippine Airlines, PNB, Asia Brewery, Tanduay, PMFTC, University of the East. Eldest son Lucio Jr. (Bong) died in November 2019; his son Lucio Tan III (Hun Hun) is the presumed successor |
| Lucio Co (b. 1953) / Susan Co | Opened the first Puregold store in Mandaluyong in December 1998. Acquired S&R in 2006. Acquired PrimeWater in December 2025 → renamed Hiraya Water in June 2026. Made the top 5 for the first time in 2026. Eldest son Ferdinand Vincent (Vincent) Co married actress Bea Alonzo in 2026 |
| Isidro A. Consunji | Chairman & President of DMCI Holdings. Father David M. Consunji founded D.M. Consunji Inc. in 1954. Built projects such as SM megamalls and the CCP complex. Subsidiaries include DMCI Homes, Semirara Mining, and Maynilad (a joint venture with Metro Pacific) |
| Andrew Tan (b. 1952 in Quanzhou, Fujian, China) | Chairman of Alliance Global. Megaworld (real estate), Emperador (brandy), Golden Arches (McDonald's Philippines). Eldest son Kevin L. Tan has been AGI CEO since 2018, and also took on President & COO from June 1, 2024 (predecessor Kingson Sian). Writing "AGI President & CEO since June 2024" mixes up the titles (corrected in the 2026-08-25 cross-check against "Conglomerates and Business Groups." 2026-08-27 source replaced: the earlier draft had cited the English Wikipedia article "Alliance Global Group." Sources: Alliance Global Group's official website, "Alliance Global appoints Kevin Tan as CEO"; Manila Bulletin, "Kingson Sian retires from Andrew Tan group; Kevin Tan is new AGI President," 2024-06-03; Philstar, 2024-06-04. Retrieved 2026-08-27). Second son Kendrick Tan is an Executive Director at Emperador. 注The claim that "Emperador is the world's best-selling brandy" is based on 2006-era industry statistics, and this article could not confirm corroboration as of 2026 |
| Tony Tan Caktiong | Chairman of Jollibee Foods. President & CEO is his younger brother Ernesto Tanmantiong. As of September 2025, 10,304 stores worldwide (3,445 domestic + 6,859 overseas). Subsidiaries include The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, Smashburger, Compose Coffee (South Korea, 70%), Tim Ho Wan (made a wholly-owned subsidiary in 2025), and Milksha (Taiwan). Ranked 71st on "Fortune Southeast Asia 500" in July 2026, with revenue of $5.31 billion |
| Lance Gokongwei | President & CEO of JG Summit. Subsidiaries include Cebu Pacific, Universal Robina, and Robinsons Land. Acquired PhilWeb shares worth ₱2.03 billion in June 2026 and became a director. Delisted Robinsons Retail effective August 31, 2026 (made wholly family-owned again). 注The ₱87.9 billion net loss from the shutdown of the petrochemical business was booked for "full-year 2025," not for Q1 2026 (corrected in the 2026-08-25 cross-check. Source: Manila Bulletin, March 25, 2026 / "Conglomerates and Business Groups" 6-3). Core net income in H1 2026 was ₱13.0 billion (▲37%) |
| Sabin M. Aboitiz | President & CEO of Aboitiz Equity Ventures (since 2019). Champions the "techglomerate" concept. H1 2026 net income of ₱13.6 billion (+63% year-on-year) 注"Conglomerates and Business Groups" gives the same period's core net income as ₱13.7 billion. Be sure to distinguish "core" from "reported." In December 2025, Global Infrastructure Partners acquired a 40% stake in Aboitiz InfraCapital for $233 million. The February 2024 acquisition of Coca-Cola's Philippine bottling business was valued at $1.8 billion for the whole business — AEV did not pay $1.8 billion for its 40% stake (the acquiring consortium was CCEP 60% / AEV 40%). (Corrected in the 2026-08-25 cross-check. Source: "Conglomerates and Business Groups" 6-6 / Coca-Cola Europacific Partners' 2024 announcement) |
| Ty siblings (Arthur, Alfred, and others) | Founder George S.K. Ty established GT Capital in 2007, listed in 2012. Metrobank, Toyota Motor Philippines (51%), Federal Land. Alfred V. Ty is Vice Chairman of GT Capital |
| Que Azcona family | Mercury Drug (the country's largest drugstore chain; founded 1945 by Mariano Que, roughly 1,200 stores, 15,000+ employees). Largest shareholder and President Vivian Que Azcona died in April 2025 at age 69. Low public name recognition, but ranked 8th domestically in 2026 ($2.5 billion). 注"Que Azcona family = Monde Nissin" is incorrect. Monde Nissin (Lucky Me!, UK's Quorn) belongs to the Kweefanus/Darmono family, founded in 1979 by Hidayat Darmono; its President is Betty Ang. (Corrected an error in "Conglomerates and Business Groups" during the 2026-08-25 cross-check. 2026-08-27 source replaced: the earlier draft also cited the English Wikipedia article "Monde Nissin." Sources: Forbes profile "Vivian Que Azcona" (source of wealth: drugstores); Esquire Philippines, "Betty Ang Business Profile: Monde Nissin" (founder Hidayat Darmono of the Kweefanus family, President Betty Ang). 3. Startups / Tech
3-1. GCash (Mynt) — the biggest topic of 2026
| Item | Content | As-of date / source |
|---|---|---|
| Operating company | Globe Fintech Innovations (Mynt) | — |
| CEO | Martha Sazon (took office April 2020). Named to Fortune's 2025 "Most Powerful Women in Asia" | Philstar, October 2025 |
| Shareholders | Globe Telecom (917Ventures), Ayala Corporation, Ant Group, MUFG | — |
| Registered users (cumulative) | 81 million, 2.5 million merchant partners | January 2025, company announcement |
| 注Monthly Active Users (MAU) | 40.4 million (roughly 55% of the adult population). 2.1 million QR Ph merchant partners; 2025 gross transaction value (GTV) ₱17.0 trillion | End of March 2026 / IPO preliminary prospectus (→ see "Finance, Tax, and the Stock Market" 3-4) |
| Valuation | $5.0 billion (at the time of the additional investment from Ayala and MUFG) | August 2024 |
| IPO | Filed for a PSE listing in June 2026. Up to roughly ₱92.3 billion (about $1.5 billion) — the largest IPO in Philippine history. Listing targeted for Q4, with a provisional debut date of October 19, 2026 | Reuters, Forbes, BusinessWorld, Inquirer (June 2026), Cebu Daily News (August 13, 2026) |
注 Both the size and timing of the IPO are planned figures based on the filing, not confirmed values. 注 (2026-08-25 cross-check) "81 million" and "40.4 million" are not contradictory — they are different metrics. The former is cumulative registered users (January 2025, company announcement); the latter is Monthly Active Users, or MAU (end of March 2026, IPO preliminary prospectus). It is incorrect to write "81 million active users." When citing the figure, always specify whether it is "registered" or "MAU." 注 The valuation also differs completely depending on the date: $5.0 billion (at the August 2024 investment round) vs. an implied market capitalization of roughly ₱669.0 billion — about $10.9 billion — based on the June 2026 IPO preliminary prospectus (a level that would exceed BDO Unibank's market cap).
3-2. Maya (formerly PayMaya)
- Orlando B. Vea: CEO of Maya Group (co-founder; also a founding member of Smart).
- Chairman is Manuel V. Pangilinan, with Alfred Panlilio on the board.
- Parent company Voyager Innovations (majority-controlled by PLDT/Smart).
- Maya Bank ranks among the top digital banks by deposit share (61% deposit share as of Q1 2023).
- Launched short-form drama streaming service "BeetzePlay" in January 2025. 注 Reliable, up-to-date figures for registered users and valuation as of 2026 could not be confirmed (unconfirmed).
3-3. Grab Philippines
- Ronald Roda: Country Head (took office September 2024). Predecessor Grace Vera Cruz moved to a regional role.
- Announced in May 2026 plans to expand service to 40 more cities (BusinessWorld).
- Expanded its EV charging network in July 2026 in partnership with ACMobility and EVOxCharge.
- In October 2025, the DICT (Department of Information and Communications Technology) urged Grab and GCash to go public (Manila Bulletin).
3-4. Kumu
A Philippine live-streaming/social app founded in 2018 by Roland Ros and others. At one point it was watched as a candidate for a Philippine-originated unicorn. 注No highly reliable reporting on its operational status for 2024–2026 could be confirmed (unconfirmed). It appears only as a passing mention in a startup-roundup article from November 2025, with little sense of its earlier momentum. When introducing it as "a flagship Philippine-origin startup," checking its current status is essential.
3-5. State of the ecosystem
In November 2025, the DICT Secretary set "nurturing tech unicorns and promoting startup IPOs" as a policy goal (Channel NewsAsia). The Philippines has produced few unicorns relative to the rest of Southeast Asia, and Mynt's (GCash's) IPO is positioned as the benchmark case.
4. Cultural figures
4-1. National Artists (Order of National Artists / Pambansang Alagad ng Sining)
The highest artistic honor, conferred by the President. 注As of August 2026, the most recent conferral was the batch awarded in June 2022 (including Nora Aunor), and this article could not confirm any new conferrals since then.
The major event of 2026: Kidlat Tahimik returns his medal Filmmaker Kidlat Tahimik (named National Artist for Film and Broadcast Arts in 2018), an advocate of indigenous culture and decolonization, returned his medal in June 2026 in protest of CHED's (Commission on Higher Education) proposal to shrink the General Education (GE) curriculum (Inquirer, Philstar, Rolling Stone Philippines, Manila Bulletin, and others, June 17–29, 2026). He criticized the proposal as "colonial regression." This is the biggest controversy in Philippine cultural policy in 2026.
A 2025 debate: opacity in the selection process Screenwriter Ricky Lee and others raised suspicions of a "palakasan" (connections-based) culture in the National Artist selection process (Inquirer, November 18, 2025). Nominations for Vilma Santos and Cecile Licad have been the subject of past controversy.
4-2. Nora Aunor — died in 2025
| Item | Content |

A national actress of humble origins known as "The Superstar," whose death is regarded as marking the end of an era in postwar Philippine popular culture.
4-3. Film directors

注Watch out for misinformation such as "Magellan won an Oscar." It was submitted, but was not nominated.
Brillante Mendoza (b. 1960) A director who won Best Director at Cannes in 2009 for "Kinatay." Remained prolific in 2025–2026 as well.
| Work | Content |

On September 4, 2026, she will receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame (at the Pantages Theatre). The first Filipino woman to do so (ABS-CBN, August 24, 2026). In August 2026 she also performed a special version of "A Parallel World" with BINI.

7-2. Filipino heritage in music and entertainment
| Person | Background | Achievements | 2025–2026 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bruno Mars | Real name Peter Gene Hernandez. Born October 8, 1985 in Honolulu. His mother emigrated from the Philippines to Hawaii (Filipino and Spanish descent). His father is Puerto Rican and Ashkenazi Jewish | 16 Grammys, 17 AMAs, 5 Brit Awards, and more | Album "The Romantic" (February 27, 2026) debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 (his first time). "I Just Might" debuted at No. 1 on the Hot 100. The Romantic Tour began in April 2026 |
| H.E.R. | Real name Gabriella Sarmiento Wilson. Born June 27, 1997 in Vallejo, California. Her mother is Filipino, her father is African American | 1 Academy Award (2021, "Fight for You"), 5 Grammys | Provided voice work for the DreamWorks film "Forgotten Island" (opening September 25, 2026) |
| Olivia Rodrigo | Born February 20, 2003 in Marietta, California. Her paternal grandparents and great-grandparents emigrated from the Philippines; she identifies as Filipino American | 3 Grammys (including Best New Artist, 2022) | Her third album "You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love" debuted at No. 1 in the US and UK in June 2026. Donated all net proceeds from her October 2024 Manila concert to the women's health NGO Jhpiego |
| Lea Salonga | See above | Tony Award | Hollywood star, September 4, 2026 |
注 A common misconception: Bruno Mars is not "a Filipino singer" — he is a Filipino American born in Hawaii, USA. He is extremely popular in the Philippines, but his nationality is American. The same applies to H.E.R. and Olivia Rodrigo, who are also US citizens. Within the Philippines, there is a cultural habit of claiming these figures in the context of "Pinoy Pride."

9. A checklist for reporting and writing
- Always specify whether a Forbes figure is from "the August Philippine edition" or "the March world edition/real-time version."
- Villar's and Razon's net worth moved by an order of magnitude between 2025 and 2026. Always note the year.
- Major executives who are not asset owners — starting with MVP — do not appear on the rich list. "Not on the list" does not mean "not powerful."
- ICTSI is "8th in the world (by equity TEU throughput)." Jollibee's "top 5 in the world" is Brand Finance's assessment of brand strength, not revenue scale.
- Nora Aunor died in 2025. An article dated April 2026 is likely reporting on her first death anniversary.
- Fernando Zobel de Ayala did not "retire" — he has already returned.
- Boxing titles, tennis rankings, and national-team results change within a matter of weeks. Reconfirm immediately before publication.
- The latest figures for Kumu and Maya could not be confirmed in this article. If citing numbers, check the primary source.
